What Plec Does Pets At Home Have?

Guess it depends which branch you go to... Have you looked on the website???
As for colours I have no idea.

the 2 closest pets at home near me only seem to keep common plecs and common bristlenose plecs which are seriously over priced.

P@H Rarely stock bristlenoses as they stock high levels of very tiny common plecs, they often have the golden variation of common plecs too.

Personally, if you dont know what a plec is 100% without asking the shop, DONT buy it, its too risky if you get one that grows big!!

That said... if they tell you it wont get big and you do buy one and you show us a photo and its a common, you are well within your rights to return it as it isnt suitable for your tank

I personally see buying a catfish such as a Plec more of a commitment and a big deal that something like cheap bread and butter fish and for that reason I always recommend going to an aquatics specialist or even better, a catfish specialist. I view my Whiptail as a kind of secondary centrepiece fish and therefore put lots of thought into which 'large' bottom dweller to get.

our local one stocks gibbiceps (sp?) huge #16##### fish.

Please keep it clean. One of these days you'll find a word that isn't in the filters and this is a family forum.

wow, ok, patronising. I'm a mother of two toddlers, I very rarely ever say anything worse than oh sausages. i wasnt aware what i wrote was a swear word... im the least sweary person on here i suspect.

To be entirely honest I misread the swearfilter replacement code. So, yes in context it was an overreaction.

The principle of remembering that, internationally, words are occasionally offensive in some countries and not others stands, however the word you used was in the filters to pick up it's use in another context, so my apologies for the tone.

Anyway, back on topic. I've taken photo's of fish in shops before so that I could go away and identify for myself what the fish really was before I considered a purchase, and not only in P@H. I've rarely been challenged and my reason always accepted when I did.

ill try and see what plecs they have in my local pets@home then but i wish i can go to that other LFS which is hard to go to from its location as we dont go to any place down that direction from their

no worries, i have that much baby brain at the moment i cant even remember what it was now :)

on another note, xmas eve i was in p@h and overheard a lady being sold a gibbi for a 25l tank with no heater :/ i assume that staff member was inexperienced as she wasnt familiar with the questionairre pad they use, but i did mention it to the guy who was sering me who seemed a little more clued up, and as i was leaving he was talking to the lady about snails lol
