What Plants To Go With?

Don't like Echinodorus 'Aquartica' so much either, looking at pics of it. I'm really not a fan of a lot of the broad leafed plants. They just look, well.. too frumpy

I just need something to fill out the back left/middle and I just can't think what. I think I will go with the bushy, spikey lump of Echinodorus latifolius as I think it'll look really nice. Maybe some small carpetting glosso in front of the U. Graminifolia...

What about Rotala sp. 'Nanjenshan' as a background filler?

I like that Rotala species, but I am not sure whether you should really try to create a strong division between the left and right hand side of your tank. Maybe, you could continue your plant choice from the left as a background towards the right to make a connection, and then use the other lower species that you propose as the accent between left and right. If you see what I mean....

Yep, I know what you mean

I hope to try to blend things definately. Hemianthus micranthemoides is another plant I'm considering to run along the back connecting the two sides. I am also wondering about pygmy chain sword in amongst the lower stuff at the front (only small amounts, accenting areas).

imo hagen black river sand would look better then pea gravel but that imo

Nanjenshan is a nice plant - I found mine to be a bit of an algae magnet in its early days but I think that was as much my poor CO2 and lack of EI at the time. I would try it again in the future.
