yesterday added my first fish to my 48x 18 x18 inch comunity tank.

I currently have

1 clown pleco
5 glass catfish
20 neon tetra's
4 bumblebee Catfish ( the LFS said the only get to three inches but i think ive read different)

I have allways wanted an Oddball in my tank but with the Malawi's I keep it just was not feasable. Is there any type of Oddball i can keep with what i have here? It wont be added for a while yet but wanted to get an idea so i can do some research.

Cheers Peeps

An elephant nose would probably do alright, as would a flounder (though for both speices, you MUSTMUSTMUSTMUST have sand, or softer/finer gravel. The floundery needs to bury itself, and the ENF can't hurt it's mouth.

shame as the tank is set up already with small round gravel so that counts those out :(

I don't know if you'd call it an oddball, but my dragon goby is my fav fish, and very odd too look at. Though he looks like a predator he's actually a harmless filter feeder, and when the light hits him properly he goes a beautiful shade of blue.
The way he moves is nice too, he can go backwards and he is just a lovely fish, he excavates his cave on a regular basis and I watch him carrying stones around the tank.

I've had mine in with neons and glow light tetras for about 2 and half years and he's never touched one. Though if a fish dies he drags it back to his cave, I presume to consume when it gets a bit "softer". He is about 18cm and nearly fully grown. You have to be careful as some types do get massive.

Sorry, for some reason I cannot get any decent pictures out of my tank, don't know why, it is a mystery. :D

Maybe someone else could help, If I remember rightly I am not the only dragon goby owner on this forum.
