Ill consider the cory's and maybe the mollies. I really cant explain a black ghost knife. All I can say is it looks kinda like and eel and is nocturnal. If you wanna learn more about them just search it or go to www.Aquariumfish.net

Black ghost knife fish are carnivores. Unlike most knife fish they probably won't eat the other fish in the tank but they might. Here's a website about them - doesn't sound too promising for a 29 gallon community tank, I have to be honest. Black Ghost Knife Fish..

As you know, I'm concerned about your gold fish because that's a cold water fish that needs heavy-duty filtration and 5-10 gallons to itself. They do not do well in tropical water. Do you know anyone with a pond that could possibly re-home this fish?

I am hoping your "angel looking fish" is actually an angelfish. I'm not sure how compatible they are with dwarf gouramis but you could try posting to the New World Cichlid section and asking there.

You should definitely look towards making up a school of corys - at least 6. You could add a dwarf plec and maybe something like cherry barbs or a school of larger tetras (not neons). Some loaches might be nice - I've got chain loaches but they're difficult to get hold of and need pristine water conditions. Everyone on this forum seems to be raving about yoyo loaches.

Gourami's are supposed to be sold in pairs as far as I know so another partner for the male/female you have might be worth while..

Ok you guys told me alot. The angel looking fish I really don't know what it is, but it seems very calm to me. The black ghost knife i dont think is a carnivore, because all it does is come out at night and stays to itself. It is small though. Some people tell me to get 2 females for every male livebearer. I will do that. For the gold fish I'm not to sure, but he looks like he's doing fine. The temp is 74-76. Maybe I will give it away, because i think ive been told it's a cold water fish before. About the gourami should it be in a pair, because I can get another? Please come back to answer these questions.

the cory would benefit from some schooling companions any type of cory will school with other types of cories. I would say at least 3 more.

Fishy Jon,
Ok you guys told me alot. The angel looking fish I really don't know what it is, but it seems very calm to me.

It is important to know what species it is if we are to advise you properly. "Angel looking" could mean its an angelfish, or it could be some sort of gourami, or a mono or anything flat and kind of triangular actually. Makes a big difference exactly what it is.

The black ghost knife i dont think is a carnivore, because all it does is come out at night and stays to itself. It is small though.

Did you follow the link I found for you? Black ghost knife fish are definitely carnivores and need live and frozen food to thrive - its no good just giving it flake and freeze-dried bloodworms. That might explain why its so small - are you sure you're feeding it what it actually eats? Fish can last an awful long time without food, but not forever.

Some people tell me to get 2 females for every male livebearer. I will do that.

That's fine, although I'd say at least 2 females and you don't have to get any females if you don't want to - they'll be OK with just a male or two.

For the gold fish I'm not to sure, but he looks like he's doing fine. The temp is 74-76.

You can't tell a fish's immune system or oxygen level in their blood just by looking at them. Unlike a human, they can't tell you they feel lethargic, can't sleep well at night and have a headache!

Maybe I will give it away, because i think ive been told it's a cold water fish before.

That would be kinder for the fish, and make room for something more suitable, as goldfish effectively take up 5-10 gallons of your tank with their mess and swimming room.

About the gourami should it be in a pair, because I can get another?

You can have a pair if you want, or have a single gourami. Either is fine.

Please come back to answer these questions.

Believe me, we're trying.
