Hello all,

It's another one of my questions. I was just wondering what kinda fish I should get next. Right now I have 4 zebra danios and 1 flare gourami I was thinking of getting 1 more gourami for company but I was wondering mostly about what else I should I get. And one other question that popped into my head is what is the average life span for a male dwarf gourami. Thanks :D.

well from experience when u get two male dwarf gourmis the bigger one or more dominate one will pick on the little one and well both of mine ended up dieing, but who knows about flare gourmis? I'd recomend some cories they need friends so get several. Or more danios!

Yeah I know Ive heard that cories need friends they're schooling fish aren't they???

I'd recommend getting a few more zebra danios, since they are shoalers. Maybe 4 so you have 8 of them altogether? And then something for the lower part of the tank, like cories or otos? Both are shoalers too, so get at least 6 of them.

Well I cant add all of them at once that is what stinks. I heard you should add only 2 or 3 at a time.

Well, I don't think it will be a problem if they're only temporarily without a real shoal, as long as they get more friends later.

 Danios are quite active yet peaceful fishes...and they tend to school, its wisert to get at least 6-10 of them...looks better, and they will be happier as well :p maybe can mix with some leopard danios....its the same also...
if you want, tetras are definitely good choices...peaceful, beautiful and works well with danios...neon tetras, emperor tetras, phantom tetras, or some harlequins, white cloud minnows, etc are also popular and nice additions...Congo tetras are bigger and cooler to look at though, and most tetras schools...so get at least 6 or more...
Guppies, barbs and cories are also great choices....but for barbs, get only the Cherry barbs since they are the only really peaceful barb specues...tiger/rosy are abit aggressive, so unless you intend to get 6 or more, they may have the habit of nipping fins..As for gouramis...i wun say they are really very peaceful fishes, since they get abit aggresive especailly among their own kind adn some other smaller fishes, but they can still be well kept...
