I have a Juwel Vision 180 its a 3ft tank and it has 4 x39w t5 bulbs but I want to improve on that for a clam and anenome and better coral growth

It would seem halide is the way to go but I know nothing at all about them

what am I loking for when I look to buy one, any tips and advice but help me greatly here thanks

its about 2o inch? ill measure it properly later

Ok at that depth you should get away with as little as a 150w single halide, however I'd be looking more at a single 250w or a twin 150w setup all of them will have to be with t5 or led actinics, the colour temp you should be looking something like a 10000k to 14000k for a decent reef setup.

As another option you could look at LED lighting systems

As for which mh unit to go with it really comes down to personal preference and what style you like just look about
