He caught me hand feeding my dwarf frog blood worms!!

Wow that must have been some drive!

I used to hand feed my dwarf frogs bloodworms too, first started off using a turkey baster but they got a bit picky lol

Andy

Thats a good idea!! He was laughing cos I was feeding him them individually....with tweezers!!!

Obsessive water tests. I spend so much on test kits.

I worry if even one neon tetra gets sick. I'll nurse it like it was my own child and I cry if they die.

Just added 4 new neons to the tank - I'm going to worry all night!

I hand feed my blue gouramis. My emperor tetras are such frenzied eaters that the gourami will be lucky if they catch anything to eat, and they don't seem to like going into the middle of a swarm of food-crazy emperor tetras anyway, so I stealthily hand feed them at the other end of the tank while the tetras are feeding elsewhere.

I spoil my Jack Dempsey. His name is Apple. Anything he wants to eat, he gets. I can't exactly hand feed him unless I want to include human on his menu. I use metal tongs to feed him things from blood worms, earth worms, meal worms, crickets, flies, small lizards, small fish, shrimp, peas, lettuce, cucumber and apple of course.... just about anything edible that can fit in his mouth, he will eat. In addition to that, I feel him the cichlid gold pellets. It's kinda funny though... he knows what everything looks like and he'll tell me what he wants. I always show him what I'm about to feed him, and over time, he's learned what they look like and he has his favorites. Things he never turns down are any kind of worm, and peas. He will jump out of the water for a worm. :p

Oh, and here is a pic of him!

Thats not a bad thing though, at least you know whats going on in your tank!

I cried this morning when I found my bn had died, even though he was the right way up, as soon as I switched the light on, I just knew :(

LOL I wouldnt wanna get in the middle of that either!!

only problem is, when im feeding my frog (aka Jeremy :p ) all my juveniles swim over (theyre too tame andtry and nick the worms off the tweezers!! The frog got his own back last night though, they were doing his head in so he shoo'd them off!!

Ha ha!!!!!!!!! I know what you mean, I used to look after a JD in our exotics room at the college I went to 13 yrs ago, he always tried to get fingers! His fave were earth worms too! And I know what you mean about jumping out the water for food!!! Im glad you added the pic just before I replied, He really is a beauty, the one I used to feed and water change was not even half as nice - or colourful as Apple xx

Hehehe.. Apple is a bit bigger than that now though. That was a few months ago. In the right light, his scales shine like stars. I haven't been able to get a good picture of it though.

Now that I would love to see, but can understand how hard it will be - I have a beautiful sailfin Molly that has something similar but not quite like stars, he is a yellowy silvery colour with bluish flecks in his scales, although if I get a pic, he looks yellow - doesnt do him justice

I love all my pets I don't think I do anything too crazy. I NEVER put my dogs in kennels I write up a nice paper on how to care for my pets for the pet sitter. I like to call my petsitter every other day to check on tem.

I have a 10 month old daughter so all my extra attention goes to her.

I handfreed my clownloaches snails that breed in my shrimp tank. I would get rid of them, but they prove such a rewarding nuisance when feeding my loach.

I handfeed my boesemani rainbows, or try. They go into a frenzy and they knock food out of my hand before i have chance to get it fully into the water.

Last but not least i have 3 Jack Dempsey females and 1 stunning Electric Blue Jack Dempsey male that are all hand tame. They do get a few nips of fingers inbetween cichlid flakes but they generally they take what is given to them straight out my hand.

I also have a "rainbow sucker" which i always forget its latin name, he eats anything left over. Usually he sticks to my arm and nibbles his way up and down my arm and around my hand and fingers as i feed the rest of the fish. Tickles like a b**ch though :p

If any of my fish are sick i treat them like nothing else matters in the world. My girlfriend likes to joke if i had to chose between her and the fish she knows the fish would win xD
