One day I was feeding my fish and I acidently dropped a fish food flake on the inside of the aquarium hood, the hood was wet so it stuck to it, and I didnt think it was a big deal. So a couple days later I looked and the fish food flake was pretty much gone, but I found alot of tiny tiny white bugs moving around it  . I have no clue what these little guys are. Does anyone know what these things are?

I'd say magots but could be wrong lol. I have only seen mold growing when i have left it for awhile. Possible to get a picture?

sure I will try to get a picture, but it might be hard to see these little things they are so tiny

If you can see the little white clumps that is a group of about any where from 10-20 of them. This is the best pictues I could get, it is kind of hard taking a pic of these little things.
uh oh sorry I have to resize it its too big sorry

either it's me or i just really dont see anything. Does your camera have a "macro" button? it'd be a button with a flower looking symbol on/by it...

They could be little flys. If I've let food fall onto the ledge inside the tank and don't notice it, I sometimes get some little flys come out next time I open the hood.

Which of course means there was maggots there or will be.....yeuch...

Hi,

They could be weevils. We live in an old house an get them quite a bit. We had them in a bag of fllour a while back and had to got through the cupboard and chuck anything that had been opened away. I have now invested in loads of plastic tubs so they can't get in any food stuff.

I used to get them around the top of my tanks when they were at my mums house cos she always overfed the fish. If you blow them into the tank the fish will eat them,(extra protein).

On a slightly different topic, I bought some king british freeze dried blood worms and they were infested with moth maggots

I wrote to them enclosing the maggots and they gave me a free tub of worms and a free tub of flakes.

They did try to make out that the moths must have got in from my end but as I had opened the tub for the first time that day I know they can't have.

Hope this helps

Emma

now that I think of it they do kinda look like weevils, but they are alot more smaller than them so I am not sure

Maggots!? Yeuch.

I've bought the freeze dried stuff before and it's been fine. Were they just like, crawling around or had they died or what?

My skin is crawling

Bought in 2015, and opened once. Two years later I found the tetra goldfish flakes and the smell was potent. Luckily the dead bodies on top fell into the sink and the hundred or so still alive didn't escape. THESE BEETLES KEPT CYCLING! Astounding that they lived so long without water or much air
