What kind of sand is this?

Take 2 buckets (or even cups or mugs). Put an inch of sand in the bottome of 1 and leave the other bare. After (at least) 24 hours measure the pH, GH and KH of the water in each container. If they are the same its probably fine - but may need lots of rinsing.

Is it possible that my pleco died because eating too much sand?
if that’s the case, I will only use sand in Neon tetra tank.

How do I rinse them? I think you’ve answered me in an old post but I forget them.

It looks like the river sand and I'm quite sure about this because I used to see it several times
