It's really hard to tell with this photo, but looks like a common pleco who could reach more than 12". Unless you have 100 gallon tank I'd bring him back.

I agree, it does look like a common plec.

He has 2 horns in front of his eyes if that helps.
I got another 2 photos

The 'horns' are his nostrils and most, if not all, plec species have them.

We really need a clearer pic of his markings and fins, and a pic of his stomach, if possible (I know it's hard to photograph fish!).

How do I add the extra photos

The same way you added the first.
Haha, yeah I was thinking that. Otherwise, go to somewhere like postimage.org or photobucket, upload the pictures and copy the 'thumbnail' URL into a reply window on here.

 This.

It has the potential (A colleague of mine has a monster common plec lol, it's just shy of 40cm) to get 30cm or more. They need a lot of room and can't really be housed with anything too delicate.

Its certainly one of the plecs known as commons, 30-40cm at least.

sarcasm is uncalled for actually...I meant do I need to start a new thread or is there a way to add to the current post

A bit of an unnecessary overreaction there?

You clearly know how to add another post to this thread, as you have already done, and how to add a photo to a post, as you have already done. Combine the two, and you're there.

Heres some more photos for the non comedians out there.
All serious replies appreciated...comedians need not replypleco fins.jpgpleco fins2.jpgpleco front.jpgpleco front2.jpg

If you have no sense of humor, you're going to be continually disappointed in this forum, and life will be quite dull.

I actually wasn't being sarcastic with my first response. I thought maybe you were trying to add more photos to your first post, instead of posting a new reply with new photos.

So, I guess you're on your own.
