What kind of light?

Hi i am in the process of cycling and would like to know what kind of light i should get for my fish. i am going to get the following fish:

3 clown loaches
2 neon blue dwarf gouramis
2 flame gouramis
9 neon tetras
1 bristlenose catfish
and ? guppies (suggestions on number of guppies would also be good)

its a 60 gallon tank (US) and i dont know what type of light to put in it (life glo, aqua glo, power glo, etc...)

Do you want to grow live plants?

i probably wont grow live plants for now, but maybe i will later on once i get the hang of fish keeping.

I *think* that aqua glo is preferred by fish who don't like a lot of light, (eg tetras) but that life glo is better for plants. I could be wrong.

I started of with plastic plants thinking "when i know more I'll start growing live ones" then realised once my tank was fully stocked that it was gonna be way harder to plant all the plants, and move them around till i got them how i liked them, cos it would stress the fish. wish i'd put live plants in before I'd got the fish now. but then i like lots of plants so it wouldnt have been so difficult if i'd just wanted a few.
I'm not saying that you should immediately start growing live plants, just thought i should tell you my experience of it. either way, have fun

yeah i mostly just want a light that will look good and the fish will like. i'm not doing live plants.

Get a spectrum of light above 10,000k. It will make your gouramis and teras look incredible.
