in the search for new and better, a quick search on Amazon, shows tons of different varieties, of algae disks... my fish have a favorite, that likely you have not used... my Tilapia supplier swears by Zieglers Spirulina Algae Discs... and are a supplier for Ziegler's, ( they do sell them on Amazon ) they sell them in a few size bags... I feed them to all my algae eating fish, and my fish literally fight over them at feeding time... I also use some from Aquatic Foods... and those get eaten, but they aren't fought over like the Ziegler's

what are your fish's favorite???

I do also make my own, with Repashi Soilient Green, that I fill a silicone 3/8 inch mini ice cube tray, after it solidifies , I put them in a zip lock bag in the freezer... I let them thaw before feeding... the fish still don't fight over those like the Ziegler's... but variety is good...

I use Nutrafin spirulinae tablets and GlasGarten Shrimp Dinner², that is a whole algae and green based food.

They certainely eat the Nutrafin tablets, But Shrimp Dinner get them out of hiding under 10 seconds loll.

From The ingredients list this can be used with a lot more than shrimps. All natural with no additive, no vitamin, no mineral, no colour enhancer. It smells and taste like it is. Green.

Another thing I love from Shrimp Dinner is that it can be left in the tank indefinitely and doesn't spoil or disintegrates.

Personally, with Panda Garra, I try to promote algae and bio film. If I can't keep enough going I will probably to use Hikari Algae Wafers along with protein pellets a few times a week as that is the brand of food I normally used in my past cichlid tanks with good results.

LOL! Want to see fish go into a feeding frenzy? Just toss in a few protein pellets in a tank with Panda Garra! ;)

Thats why... Sometimes you need something more discrete...

so some other fish get a chance, is how I interpreted that

My livebearers love Sera spirulina veggie treats. You can push the tablet against the front glass and it will stick. Then you watch the action as the livebearers attack it.

The fishes Have a lot more difficulty to find it. And it can remain for a while unnoticed.
OK, I get it. That is why my school fish will probably be Ember Tetras getting fed flakes. Panda Garra are all over a tank but mostly in the lower 2/3. The tetras are more in the top 1/3. Drop in a algae wafer or a few protein pellets and the Pandas will be at the bottom chowing down. A pinch of flakes added after for the tetras and the feeding areas work out.

Here is the ingredient list for the Ziegler's Algae Discs:

Note that the Spirulina is the 7th ingredient and what the other 6 in greater amounts are.

I have mostly switched to using the Ebo Aquaristik for my dry foods. I order them from Germany and usually spend $200+ when I order.
Here is what they say about their spirulina tabs

Ebo Spirulina Tabs Premium Fish Food
Fish food with 30% spirulina as well as crustaceans and molluscs
https://www.nature2aqua.de/produkt/ebo-spirulina-tabs-premium-fish-food/?lang=en

I also use the Repashy Soilent Green as well as zucchini.

Nutricost organic spirulina is 100% spirulina. No fillers. You can get a bottle of 240 tablets, .5g tablets for about $10. It is made for humans but I give it to some of my fish. It’s sold on Amazon.

I use Repashy Soylent Green for my grazers. Read the Hikari Algae Wafers ingredients, they're pretty much the same as most Hikari foods. Not terrible but maybe not the best. I also have some Omega 1 Algae pellets, better, but not great.

I have used Hikari and the fish seem to like them.

Have been considering Rapashy but it is not available locally so I would have to order online. I do not like ordering online if I can avoid it.

The not so LFS likely has it and I will need to remember to look next time I am there.

The ingredients on the Hikari Algae wafers has been degrades over the years. I still use it now and then but I am less happy about doing so.

Oddly enough I still use a few ot the foods from kens fish. I use a my own mix of his flakes foods to create my staple flake. But I also still uses some of his sticks. I just got a refill for:

Not that the main ingredient for which the sticks above are named are #3 or #2 in the ingredient list.

I also use his Ken's Premium Vegetable Sticks With Calcium:
