I was just wondering guys, if you guys just keep your bettas in small tanks because they cost less and take less maintenance, or if you just like them. I keep mine in small tanks because of the maintenance, not at all because of budget. Also, I'm curious to see what the average tank size for bettas you guys would want. Me....I like small tanks for bettas, I would say 5 Gallons....I have a 2 Gallon, but find my betta is so active that the next betta tank I get will be larger.

I prefer the 1 gallon containers, because they are an ok size for bettas, and very common. I've got bettas in all different sized tanks though (4, 3x1, 0.75, 0.5).

For space for me versus space for the Betta, I like the 2.5, good enough room to swim around and flare yet doesn't take alot of space on shelves, and cleaning/water changes are easy.

i worked around havin a 5 gal and soon a 10... ROLLYS!!! you see im only aloud 2 tanks in total so i have to think about moving them... and because it does take a bit to long scooping the water out and im a bit to lazy i just roll the tank down the hall to clean it HEHEHEHEHEHE :kana: :kana: :kana: :kana: :kana:      lazy little me :kana: :kana: :kana: :kana: :kana:

i put mine in 1.5G, they have enough room to swim around and stuff...i could get something larger but i'd be out of room :/

I have two 2.5 gallon tanks, which are nice 'cause they don't take up too much space. Though the more I watch my bettas the bigger tank I want to get them! Once the bettas I have pass on I want to scrap the 2.5 gallon tanks and get a 5 gallon tank. I'll have one less betta, but the one I'll have will have more real estate :D

I have a 90 gallon for a sole betta.

lol

I love the critter keepers from PetsMart.

I put them in 2.5 gallon tanks sometimes alone sometimes divided into 2, sometimes in 5 gals divided, and one "hospital bowl" somewhere between 3/4-1 gallon. Right now one of my boys is in a breeder thing for livebearers in my 10 gal temporarily coz the hospital bowl is in use, and I'm quarantining and medicating in two other tanks. They get moved around once in a while, I guess, depending on what's happening with the other fishes.

Weird thing is, I noticed that the bettas seem to be happier in the bowl than the divided tanks. Don't know if that's coz of filtration, cleaning regimen, or what. I always see bubble nests in the bowl (whoever is there) but less frequently in tanks.

i dont agree with the smaller container, but thats jimo.

mine are in a 15.6 gal and a 26.somthin gal :)

they both do great, get plenty of excersize and have loads of little friends in with them :)

i had mine in a 8/10 gal(not relly sure and he was relly happy in there
