What Is Wrong With My Bala Shark

i brought a bala shark yesterday and when i put it in the tank i noticed that it cant close its mouth, the jaws out of place and its mouth is always open

has anyone noticed this on theirs before? can i do anything to fix it - give it something

my rotkeil has got a slightly disfigured mouth i will try and get a pic to show you. but it does look cool and doesn't stop him from feeding.

Size of tank in gallons or litres.
How many fish and which type.
Water stats in ammonia, nitrite, nitrate, and ph.

It sounds like a dislocated jaw.
You need to wrap the fish in a cloth soaked in tank water. Ask someone to hold the fish down for you.
Try and put the jaw back into position.
I would search the net before you attempt it to see how you do it.

I have a Bala shark and his mouth goes wide open and under when he has something in it. Maybe this one just has a defromed mouth.

Wide open mouths can mean the fish has got something lodged in the mouth,. or sores or ulcers in the mouth.
has the bala shark knocked his mouth on something in the tank.
Was his mouth like this at the lfs.

I would personally just ask the LFS for an exchange since you got it yesterday, most have 48 hr returns
