Any ideas?

For about the past week, Chance has not been eating (at least not that I've seen). However, he looks as handsome & healthy as ever.

He appears to fall asleep completely randomly - for example, he'll be swimming, then just suddenly stop and stay still, apparently asleep. Sometimes I've questioned his eyesight. He seems to almost run into things.

Other times, he'll be swimming, and tilting slightly to one side. Or the back half of his body will appear to be somewhat dragging behind as he swims, only to be fine a little while later. Oh yes, and if it's swim bladder disorder - he won't eat anything other than bloodworms, freeze dried. I've tried the whole time I've had him to get him to eat something else. Nope.

Also, he startles much more easily than normal.

But, at the same time, he is blowing occassional bubbles (something he only does when happy) and watching TV (his usual pastime LOL). No sign of fungus or swelling or even the stupid fin rot or septicimia (sp) he had when I bought him 8 months ago.

Nothing else has changed - same kind of water & food (I even bought new food b/c he usually hates stale food). Same amount of light & same temperature.

Ideas? Help! Should I try fasting him for a couple of days, it looks a little like a slight swim bladder disorder; I tend to think that too because he isn't eating.

Hi Lacey

I would try giving him some peas, place them in boiling water for couple of minutes and pop them out off the skin, my betta splash only likes bloodworm too but he will accept peas on the odd occasion - maybe when he needs them for his health - if I offer them too much he just ignores them!! Bless him

Good luck and I hope Chance is ok
