Just spotted this on the front of my tank, was gonna take it out as I don't know what it is, but when I went to get it, it was gone. :/

The one platy is fine.

Look at the worm thing coming out the end of the bit of plant, not the plant itself hehe. ;) It looked like it was using the bit of plant as a kind of shell, because it was dragging it along as it moved up the glass.
 
looks like a catapiller of some kind to me, im sure it wont last long before it becomes fish food, it must have got in your tank along side your fish or plants.
 
There are several types of insect larva that use bits of plant debri and even small stones for camoflage(sp). Some are fine but some do prey on fry and small minnows. If you see him again, remove him.

Yeah was well hard getting the camera to focus on that and not some bit of dirt or something, still not focussed properly but good enough. ;)

Saw him again while doing a water change, so he's gone now. :)
