I only have a 125 l so looking for suggestions?

Not sure if its the smallest but a bristlenose plec only grows to around 4-6" and I have one in my 125 litre tank.

They are great algae eaters too :good:

oh gosh you could be into L numbers ((££)

i have 6 ( ok granted they are babies) bristlenose in a 200 and im sure 1 or 2 adults will be fine in yours, i intend to make a tank just for them, minimum would be 4ft with 2 males ( poss 270 litres) but they are weent at the mo, largest being 2 inch
thyey do fight at the mo tho, well not fight, chase, but tey are nice fish and quite peacefull :)

Probably dwarf goldspot i think it's called or a pitbull pleco..... closly followed by L129 and say L199.

what you want the plec todo?, tank setup?, certain plecs required certain things to keep them happy.

good Q jen as people oddly enough always want them to eat something.. ie algae, fish poo

Well my tank is white sand substrate, planted and I have positioned stones around the plants to try and prevent any uprooting. I'd like a shoal of sterbai corys and a solitary plec. As for middle upper tank I am unsure although I saw some stunning flame tetras and black phantom tetras and tiger barbs today at the LFS but I fell in love with a Golden nugget plec!
Please will my cycle hurry up!

The golden nugget plecs are nice but after a quick search on google, they can grow to around 14" and minimum tank size is 200L so you may have probs with one in your tank.

Becareful what you keep the tiger barbs with, they can get aggressive.

I'd recommend a bristle nose, they wont get too big, are fine on their own or with cory's and as a bonus will keep your tank clean

Golden nugget is really the wrong plec for that size tank, a plec with a possible 10+ inch growth if you brought the wrong L- number...... best to have a look around to see what you like and we can tell you if it will be suitable :)

LOL, they dont get to 4 foot :p around 18 inches is about average some reports on 24-28 inches ;). edible i dont know ... not really sure if i would try tbh pmsl :)

Clown plecs require wood for there diet so as long as you have this it would be fine :)

I actually did buy a small piece of wood today for a corner of my tank and to give the lucky Plec a home. I also heard of a leopard frog plec but apparently these are hard to find!
Don't worry I have no intention on snacking on any of my fish if times get hard!

Snack away pmsl, just not sure if it will taste nice :p, yeh L134 are stunning plecs, not really hard to come by but slightly harder than most.

But a clown is an ideal plec, just be aware you probably wont see him/her much. Just make sure there is plenty of hiding places and it will be fine :)
