What is the meanest fish you've owned?

my flying fox for sure!
shes such a brat
i had to remove her from my community tank cause she'd go up to the surface and gab a platy by on of its fins and jerk backwards, tearing the fin and sending the platy across the tank
i think she thought it was a game cause she seemed to do it for no reason (they were far from her territory and she wasn't in a feeding frenzy
that tank was inhabited with many smaller fish
so i put her in my old shark tank (i no longer had my shark) with a few large fish and a noctornal cleaner (the only bottom inhabitant)
but then the 3 gourami started stealing the sinking food so now every feeding she goes into a feeding frenzy flicking the other fish as though she is biting them but most of them don't even flinch and their is no damage whatsoever
the only one she has successfully bullied would be my 2" golden gourami
who is chased if she dare come down into the caves
but she obviously isn't effected, since she has no damage to her and just keeps coming back

My female auratus is nuts, she spends 24 hours a day chasing every other fish in the tank indiscriminately. I also have Tilapia buttikofferii's, but so far they are very sweet...however I do have a new tank on it's way to accomadate them when they get around to reading their job description. I know it's only a matter of time, but I'm looking forward to having a species tank of Tilapia buttikofferii's, because I think they are so fun!

That species tank of buttikofferii's may end up being a species tank with a buttikofferii  , as they grow they get more and more territorial and need around 75 gallons per fish when over 10". They are certainly one of the most aggressive fish i have ever kept and are capable of doing huge ammounts of damage very quickly when they attack, stunning fish though.

the only 'chucky' fish i have had was a danio (who seems to have gone realy mild)

when i first set up my tanks i brought 7 zebra danios... day after day i was pullin out a dead dannio and replacing it for it to end up being burried... then i decided to watch what was happenin.. the male danio (that i have now still) was constantly chasin just one fish at a time untill it was realy tired then started nippin the buggery out of where ever he could reach... after they died an left him on his own.. hes tried it on with other fish but they now just stare him down...

like i said hes seemed to have calmed down, no longer named chucky... i reckon hes waitin for more zd's to harass :shifty:

I would have to say my red eye tetra.

He killed all his tankmates when I had him in my 30 gallon a year ago. (4 platys, 2 other tetras)

then I added larger more aggressive fish with him (3 convicts and 2 texas cichlids) he killed two of the convicts and both texas cichlids)

He lives pretty peacefully now though in my 55 gallon with the others in my sig. Although he has been picking on my baby bala's.

After him it would have to be my pseudotropheus estherae

My breeding jewel cichlids. Instead of defending their spot and keeping the fish away they would follow them until they killed them. They have killed everything from firemouths to figure 8 puffers. Mean nasty little fish

Mine meanest is the bass i caught in my local lake a year ago which still lives wioth my other cichlids(theyre all crazy in that tank)

giant danio for one, its been chasing my fish for over 6 months, but nothing has ever died from it. skunk loaches were bad along with chinese algae eaters. Worst ever were dwarf puffers, they're about 1/4 inch in size yet they do so much damage to even the largest fish!

I had a Blue Acara once that would hunt my bloodfin tetras one by one every night.....It took him a week to finished 6 bloodfin tetras that i have....I have to trade him back to my LFS along with my firemouth and the gold severum when i got my first discus.....

Cherry barbs that I owned in a previous tank setup. I had heard that these were nice barbs, so I figured I'd give them a try. Little devils tormented my other fish, and when my two favorite platies finally had their first batch of fry, the meanies ate every baby they could find.

i havent owned many fish as i am still fairly new to the hobby but so far definately my flying fox. i had to get rid of it coz it was so nasty. it would chase and bite my other fish sometimes for no reason but most if the time it would be when i put food in the tank. i hated that fish so much

A male guppy who would attack EVERYTHING in my tanks (including female guppys). He had one friend which was another male guppy  Ended up having to get rid of him when he took a more than usual dislike to a female platy and killed her one night :rip:

Just dug this post up..God bless the related topics box

I thought it was hilarious!!! it really shows that fish do have individual personalities...love the thought of a female guppy femme fatale!!
