Just a quick question :)

I have been using King British Safe Guard, but was told today there is a lot better one but forgotten the name :( so what make do you think is the best of treating my tape water?

seachem prime has been recommended to me more than any other tap water conditioner.

I use Wilkinsons own make dechlorinator.

Time was when cheap decholrinator mean't a bad product, but nowadays (additives such as streess coat etc. aside) they are virtually all the same as formulas are almost instantly active (that foam you see when filling the bucket is part of the action of the detergent compound).

The only way to make any dechlorinator any more efficient is to leave it overnight with an airstone, although the benefits are absolutely minimal (unless proccessing a huge volume of water at once).

Hope that helps!

I use prime to there are other makes that do exactly the same but there bottles lasts less time in my experience.

Have not got to the point were I use the High concentrated pond dechlorinate like some I know it is even cheaper.

Regards onebto.

I use the bigger bottles of Nutrafin. Lasts a long time, so it's good for the wallet.

Seachem Prime is highly recommended by others on here. I use it and it only needs 0.6ml per 10L of water.....very cost effective.

API Tap Water Conditioner is inexpensive and takes only a drop per gallon to do the job. :D

I have been using tetra aqua safe, was £16 for a 500ml bottle but needs 10ml to tread 10L

I use tetrapond aquasafe pond dechlorinator. Does the same as aquarium dechlorinators and is alot more concentrated.

£14 for a 1000ml bottle and 10ml treats 200L, meaning the bottle will treat 20,000L

Thank's all :) so looking at the reply s i may as well keep to my own King British as look like all do the same job, as long it keeps the water safe for the fish :)

If your talking about it simply making your water safe then it doesn't matter which one as long as it locks the chloramine bond and removes the chlorine, sure things like stress coat advertise other benefits but its unnecessary.
