WHAT IS THE BEST FISH??

I don't know looking at the pic it looks like they can be kept in the cupboard under the sink LOL

About $1200 Aust. Dollars. I suppose the body of the fish is not the best shape, but the size and colour just make it look so seducing!!!!!!!!!!! :D

IMHO the "best" fish is the fish that suits your personal requirement. If you're short of space and short of money you can't really buy better than a betta ;) If you have a slightly larger tank some guppies or tetras are fantastic, a much larger tank and hard water and you can't go wrong with some Malawi cichlid, or if money and time is no object, a gorgeous reef tank with yellow tangs and clownfish. For me, mollies and guppies are the perfect fish, being compact, colourful, interesting and cheap, and also great for my hard, alkaline water.

The way I see it, the most popular fish are popular for a reason: because they are colorful or have interesting behaviour or both.

Hey CFC,

I just brought in 4 tiger dats!!

my fav just gotta be tetras.. those that look beautiful in light.. (think glowlight.. hehe). i wish i could get a large tank with a couple of dozen of them and get some nice lighting... arowanas aren't too rare in singapore but they still cost a bomb. a friend on mine breeds discus.. but they are hard work, he does 50% water changes daily for 6 tanks

Are they the 3 bar variation CM? If they are what kind of price are they going for? The only 3 barred tiger dat ive ever seen for sale was £450 for a 6" fish!!! I have a cheaper 5 barred tiger dat, they go for about £30 for a 4 to 5 inch fish here which is much more reasonable and IMHO they just as good looking as the 3 bar variation unless you are a real purist.
