hi all me again what is the best enviroment for shrimp because i was thinking of gettin a few alge eating shrimp or some armoured shrimp but i dont no what the best envirment and what kinda of food they eat so before i get them i will ask you lot for some advice and what fish wouldnt be a good choice to keep with shrimp

Wow, I had to take a breath after reading your LONG sentence.

It depends on what kind of shrimp you want and what you are planning....i.e.....fish, plants.

So, what do you have planned?

well what i have planned is that i wont to move my common pleco my 5 leopard danios was ment to be six but one died last night becuase it got stuck behind the pump and my to sucking loaches or i might keep them in my small tank i dunno and for plants i not really saw i will proberbly stay with fake ones

No predatory or large fish can be kept with algae shrimp as they are seen to be 'food'. Also most shrimp prefer a mature tank like the armoured shrimp/cameroon shrimp as you suggested. As they are filter feeders; which basically means they filter particles from the water. (Which only mature tanks have).

Hope this helps.

in a way yes , so what would be the ideal fish to have then

Their are a wide range of fish which you can keep with shrimp, such as neon tetras, plecos, guppies, loaches (only certain types), bettas, gourami's (again only certain types, such as the dwarf gourami), corys. you have to search around a little on the net, but almost all of the smaller less aggressive fish can be kept with shrimp.
Also dont be expecting hours of visual entertainment from the shrimp as they mostly hide.

what shrimp are the best then because i am goin to get some more fish on monday but at the mo i have a common pleco , 1 sucking loach, 6 neon tetras , and 5 leopard danios

I suggest the cameroon armoured shrimp, its larger and can live with bigger fish (so you have more choice etc). Also it grows to around 15cm, its harmless but can defend itself if attacked. Just out of curiosity how big is your tank?

i will measure my tank to day but it will be either in centimeters or inchs coz i have another tank which is 25 litres but i moved my fish out of tht coz it had some thiung in the water so i need to clean it out etc . and tomorrow i will be gettin 10 pounds worth of fish and shimp etc .
my tank is fairly big

right i measured my tank and it was 24 inchs long 12 width and 12 depth (inchs)
dont no how much litres it can hold me other one can hold 25 litres

Thats the same size as my tank (except i have 15" width instead of 12" like yours) that makes your tank around 13g, you should be fine aslong as you dont overstock your tank. I would suggest rehoming your common pleco because it can grow over a foot long, and needs at least 40g.

i will try to get one tht big
wht other fish would be a good lot to get

I say you could only get around another 2-3 fish, dwarf gourami's are a good addition to an aquarium because of their bright colours. Look in your lfs (local fish store). You could also get a couple of amano shrimp/algae eating shrimp because the cameroon shrimp is harmless as well as all of your fish.

i was thinking of gettin some mollys or some other smaller fish
wht small fish would suit better tht is wht i am thinking i was thinking of some upside downcat fish
