What In The Water Kills Snails, But Not Shrimp?

*shrugs*

Ironic thing about this is that I was planning to convert this tank into a snail breeding tank. And now, it rejects them.

Better luck next then, eh  ?
I definately think it was the wire that caused the issue in this case, once you've done some water changes and run the carbon spnge in the filter for a bit, maybe stick a malaysian trumpet snail or something in there to test the waters?

Yep, after a while, the combination of the water changes and carbon would get rid of a lot of things. The only thing I'm worried about is some chemicals (copper for example) tend to "stick" to things in the tank, like silicone. I'll probably "test" the waters after maybe two or so months with a snail.

I'll probably set up a new tank in the meantime, in case the current one is still unfriendly, I can just move the "test snail" into the new one.

Anyways, thanks for the help Tokis. :)
