If other fish start to linger under the belly of my heavily pregnant guppy does it mean she is close to dropping cos they want a meal?
That's what they have been doing for the past 5 days or more.
Surely she cant have much longer to go?

Yup, usually the fish get impatient and want a snack. I have also heard of other signs such as darting up and down the tank, hiding away by themselves or you can try looking at their tummy and if it looks like one corner near the tush is squarish then she may be close to dropping in less than 24 hours.

If she seems like she is going to explode and you want to save the fry then i would suggest going ahead and seperating her. Good Luck

ok she is in a tank of her own now. She has darted around quiet a bit but then stays really still and breaths quiet heavily+fast. Why would she lean to one side though its like her belly is so fat its pulling her over!

Oh hey i was just watching her and she swam over to the plants in the tank and was eating some stuff off it and then she rested her belly on one of the leaves! sorry i'm excited, i've never seen her do that before. :D

Sounds Exciting.

The first time my guppies had fry i couldn't wait after waiting for 2 months. I was so worried back then that i seperated them and raised the fry to 2 months old now. Now the fry had kids of their own and they don't even look at them twice as food, fry just swim around all over so bravely, quiet amazing. Also i do have lots of plants for them to hide in.

my pregnant fish also wiggled from side to side. i think it the fry in her belly and shes trying to get comfy or to have them or something. you'll see all sorts of weird behavour before birth. she'll be famished after the birth too.

Ok guys i'm really concerned now she aint moving at all. she is in the corner behind plants and at a wiered angle like tail down a little. well she's flapping and breathing fast but aint moving otherwise.

she might just be resting but im not too sure.
