what happened to his tail?!?!?

he does look lovely  sometimes they just have a bad habit of chewing off thier own tail -_- (i assume he is in a tank all by himself right?) i think it's kind of like us chewing our fingernails :D

anyways, i'm not a meds person, the only thing i have on me is melafix. Never had to use anything else, and hope i never will either :)

anyways, keep us updated!

realy? i userally do atleast a 50% water change everyday? i guess its jus me. id stick to melfix if it is rot, he isn't ver sick and if u overdose it, it wont hurt him much

hummm.. well id rather be safe then sorry - i'll do the 50% a day then ;) thanks for the suggestion.
oh dears, i have already added a dose of maracyn 2 to his tank.... erm should i do a 50% change and discontinue use of that but switch to the melafix?

alrights, thanks, will do. gosh my poor little guy, my lack of experience is prolly causing him much unnecessary stress. you live you learn thou and i'll know for next time.

Thats defitnetly fin-rot

Try marcine but careful...Dont overdose... :S
That's definetely a bitten fin, not fin rot.

Maybe he does this because they are too heavy, maybe he does it due to stress, I'm not too sure of the causes. Some aquarium salt and more water changes do the trick.

I've noticed, once a male recovers from finrot, he's a lot happier without all those fins to drag him down.

what a silly fish :p
he has lost chunks of tail fins before, but only small ones, not like this.
its strange thou, there havent been any changes in his environment (that i can think of), i wonder what got to him...
if only he could talk, it would make this sooo much easier
i really hope his fins fully grow back thou, they are sooo pretty - but i can understand that they must really weight him down.
