I like commons because that's what I've kept, but I've always wanted a black moor, just to call him Othello. But that's not a good reason to have a fish. That's as deformed as I'll go, never liked the ones without a dorsal fish, or the eyes in sacs, a little creepy to me, but that's the cat's meow to others.

Commons! Many of the really fancy ones (telescope and that crowd) don't seem to be as hardy, or are limited by their body shapes. Plus, I think commons are beautiful in an all-natural way; they remind me of the sunnies in my grandpa's lake.

Personally, I've always been partial to black moors myself. If I was to wake up tomorrow and think "I'm going to keep goldfish" then that is what I'd keep. I do kinda miss my old one called blackie (I know, not very original, but then again I called my china doll goldfish Whitie to match  ).

I do have some commons with my koi but my favourite has to be wakins, ive only got the two at the moment but they are both getting on for about 5 inches now.

I have an oranda, a moor and a veiltail and the veiltail is the prettiest (though my moor seems to have a better personality). Unfortunately she caught a fungus infection a while back and her fins have started to shred a little bit, which is an enormous shame.

I should get in this colwater section more often....
i thought there was just a few diff. of goldfish.,...not 1 million!

Ryukins, closely followed by wakins, bristol shubunkins, black moors and the humble common. :) I think that list is gradualy increasing in size though :p

I absolutely adore my comets and shubunkins, and commons are beautiful. If I ever get my pond I'm filling it with those three. I have a 55g with 1 comet and 2 shubunkins. I think they're just so beautiful and look so natural compared to the huge bellied, funny eyed others.
