What Fish?

I'm looking for a new fish to put in my 20 gallon tank. I want one that around 4 inches long because i'm tired of lots of small fish. I already have 3 guppies and 4 peppered cories. Any suggestions? please dont put fish that are hard to keep in terms of live food and extra things that I would need to buy because im only 13 and i cant buy anything I want.

Thought about adding a couple more corys? Theyd be much happier in a group of 6 and would be more active and playful.

A bolivian ram or keyhole cichlid? They're both undemanding fish and very peaceful. One of the smaller plecs like bristlenose? You could try a zebra, yoyo, or polkadot loach solo but it might be a little timid.

I also agree with increasing the corys by 1-3 (same species preferred).

You could actually keep 2 bolivian rams in a 20g provided there are a few caves etc.

Im leaning towards the bolivian rams but I've heard that theyre hard to keep and usually end up dying because the water parameter werent ideal. My ph is at 8.0, would this be okay? The last time I went to the LFS the had longfinned rams. Are these rare?

That sounds more like blue rams which are much more sensitive to things like hardness, nitrates and temperature. The bolivians are much hardier and versatile. While your pH is a little higher than preferred they should easily be able to adjust to it, especially since they will most likely be tank bred. Just keep on top of your water changes and maintain a temperature of 24-27C and the bolivians will be healthy.

As for the longfinned rams, I've never heard of them but bolivians do go by many names. Bolivian ram, bolivian butterfly, butterfly ram, royal ram, red ram etc. And bolivian rams are fairly common dwarf cichlids.

What about some more corys? I love the albino cory. They're so easy to keep and cheap too so sounds like they would be perfect for you.
