What Fish Would You Say Is Most Wanted In Aquariums?

Sounds like a plan, not seen a 7 foot tank for a while can't wait to see pictures. Those Severums look quite big, how big are they now?

They are about 5 and 4 inches now . They were both very deep blue until I changed to unipac sand. They went and altered their colour lol

Galaxy Rasbora/CPDs, depending on what you want to call them.

The cheapest I've seen them in a shop is £8 each, and since they're so small and you'd need a good 20 or so in a tank...

You're looking in the wrong LFSs - MA had them for £4-5 each.

I'd like a chocolate gourami, but would probably kill it :(

The ones I can't figure out why they are SO popular: tiger barbs! So many people seem to have them, yet as far as I can tell they are often aggressive to other fish and don't even look that interesting.
I don't know why, but I think barbs look sort of "1970's" to me!

The most popular fish in the general public at my store are the mollies and platies. It would more likely be neon tetras, tiger barbs, and bala sharks, if not for the fact the very word "schooling" turns people away cause they don't want more than 1 of each fish.

Tiger barbs are the most interesting schooling fish I've owned. From the head-to-head dominance battles and explorative personalities, as well as their bottomless stomachs and begging habits and headstanding when resting, and how they bit my arms (and tried to eat all the goodies that were being syphoned out of the tank) these guys would be my favorites hands down if it weren't for their mischievous nipping.

Id love an EBJD but doesnt look as though i can have one with my tiger barbs, tetras, tasboras & pair of GBR's!! . Hey, never know!!
Popular fish, id say mollies as again, everyone seems to have had them at one stage or another and they are a great starter fish, for me anyway!!

Oh meant to add .... I LOVE tiger barbs too!!! . As Onidrase says, great personalities, the power struggles are great to watch and the way they associate with each other is fab. Very entertaining fish in my view. I started with 8 in a 120 liyte and now have 12 in my 420 litre and never had any aggression issues except between themselves so a HUGE thumbs up for me!!

Would love a group of these guys but the waters they come from are now protected and not been fished. Impossible to find in any LFS so it would have to a breeder somewhere in the UK that hopefully has some.

No MAs around here - I'm up in Glasgow...

Edit: Actually just saw they've recently opened one up here... Interesting. *gets in car* :D

My LFS sells CPD's for £2.50 each!! . My other half has 8 of them. Not reallyy thing but she loves them!!
Hard to believe that they are £8 in other parts of the country.

I had always wanted green terrors. For my birthday, my husband bought me a 75g tank. Everytime I went to the fish store, the GTs didn't look well, so I never got them. Valentine's day, my husband surprised me with a breeding pair that someone was selling on Craigslist. I have never been dissapointed by these guys! Great fish with loads of personality. THey haven't spawned for me, but they interact with me just as much as my oscars did!
