Just a fun curiosity thread, but what fish would you keep if you had the space/money/time for them?
As for me, i would have a tiger shovelnose catfish, chinese algae eater, ranchu goldfish and perhaps various other types of fancy goldfish :) .
So how about you guys/girls?

If there are no limits --- I want a 500+ gallon pond with lots of goldfish and to do the 7'X3'X3' saltwater I imagine (replacing the spare bedroom's closet).

A massive indoor pond. I would stock it with Arros, Shovelnose an a couple of other monster cats and a few other monsters. Definately those massive Tiger something. Damn cant remember their name, they look like 2ft Yiger Barbs. Oh an plenty of Fire eels. In other words CFC best keep his fish room locked once I build this.

Discus and Severum in a huge planted tank - sort of 10ft long at least - so i'll go for a 10x3x3 tank then

Severums eat plants and are not really suited to be with discus  But if it could be done it would be lovely
If i was to get whatever i wanted i would atleast have say 15 tanks atleast. All with different genus [or whatever it is, species]
My first 4 prioritys would be-a massive planted discus tank with loads of shoaling fish. Then a central american tank, then a south american and then a gigantic marine as i have never had one but they are the most beuatifal tanks you can get imo...Stop your making my mouth drool

huge english freshwater tank, huge filter outlets at one end, half a submerged tree. chub, roach, tench, perch and rudd. would love a pike to go in there, but don't think that would work somehow ;)

Sturisoma aureum! - a pair for breeding.

big school of moustached danios, beautiful fish

another thought I've had is that it would be nice to get lots of little tanks and specialise in nano fish, really learning about them and encouraging their sale. It seems to me that there are so many people setting up what is basically nano tanks, but it's really difficult getting hold of fish that will fit the tanks, relatively few people are keeping that kind of fish, and not so much is known about them. I would have lots ot heterandria and phallichthys species, but also rainbows, lampeyes, shelldwellers- anything that went with hard water, as that would be my other deliberate limitation; I would like to see how far I could get without choosing fish that are unhappy with my natural water, or going RO (bad for the environment).

I'd need yet another tank for these but I really would like to try
Belonesox belizanus Pike-top Minnow
a great little predator with a huge mouth and lightning speed

Redtail catfish, something that'd never happen but I can dream. I'd love to get an Oscar and also really Bala sharks, Koi and common Plecos, all too big for my tanks.

okay this is going to sound silly but i want a spare bedroom going to tile the floor make
a nice 1000 gallon or so pond in the middle. get a few ducks and turtles and koi for the fish.

i would want screened in porch with a 3000gallon pond thats you see at zoos. then there would be my basement (small 2nd basement) with the whole wall glass like you see in dolphin exhibits. then i would have the most wid variety of african chichlids plecos and catfish. of course that would be my dream tank!

I'd prob have some sort of rescue home for fish LOL. I'd go around all the lfs's and take in all the returned common plecs, catfish etc that are just too big for alot of people's tanks. I'd have alot of oddball tanks, mainly bichirs, I'd love a dragon goby, saw it in this month's pfk  I'd have lots of diff puffer tanks, I have a tank for every type of cory, hundreds of betta tanks, planted tanks with shoaling fish. I could go on and on but if money / space etc where no problem I'd probably have tanks for each readily available fish, that includeds SW & brackish
