I recently bought a 55gal tank.  The person selling it had fish and asked if I would want them.  Of course I would take them and so I did.  The tank came with 2 Silver Angelfish , 8 rummy nosed tetras , and a bengal loach.  I was thinking after giving them some time to adjust and the bacteria and chemicals to get to normal I would ponder on another fish to get.  These fish arent fish I would buy as they arent very cool or pretty imo other than the bengal loach is active and very sly and beautiful.  What are some options of fish that you would think I should consider being that I have these fish already.

Hi and welcome,

i would advise against getting anything like guppies, Bettas or anything with pretty trailing fins, and also to stay away from anything that could fit in the angels mouths (ive heard stories about them eating smaller fish, dont know how true but i wouldnt risk it) you could add some Cory's, maybe some platys

we had the same problem when we brought our tank, he offered us the fish but we let him keep them as they wasnt "pretty" or something we would buy

Ram cichlids or apistos would make a lovely, bright addition to the tank. When rummynoses are older they have a nice deep red color on the face and it looks really cool

I would up the number of the loach to 3-6. As with most loaches they do better in groups of their own.
You don't give any info as to what you like, so I'll just give you ideas of some of the fish I like.
8-neon dwarf rainbows
1m/1f pearl gourami pair
4-6 Bolivian rams
8-bleeding heart tetras
6-larger rainbowfish, turquoise, reds, yellow.... As long as they are the same species.
1 specialty pleco, gold nugget, mango, or even a bushynose (they come in a variety of colors and Finnish types)

Now I'm not recommending all these fish, just trying to give you some ideas as to a jumping off point for fish to look into. There are also a bunch of oddballs that would work well.

I second the dwarf rainbowfish... great little fish.

Awesome!  Thank you for all the responses!  I greatly appreciate it.
