I looked at the fish index and a few other places but failed to find a list of species that you would avoid if you kept angels. I suspect anything small like a tetra will just become angelfish food, right? Outside of the super small fish, is there anything else that I should avoid?

Thanks!

Finding a comprehensive list of every fish you can't keep another fish with would take forever. There are just too many species of fish.

You don't want anything too small, anything too large, anything that won't be able to take a little aggression from the angels, anything that couldn't compete for food with angels, anything to aggressive for angels. The list would be hundreds of thousands.

It would be easier to ask what fish you like to see if they are compatible.

Sorry I didn't mean for it to be such an intimidating question ;)

I guess I oversimplified things for sure. If I was to ask the question again it I would probably ask from the opposite angle..... like "I want to have a community aquarium centered around Angelfish. What other fish would compliment this type of a setup?".

Is that still too broad? It seems odd to have people put up a list of fish only to have experts pick away at it. It almost sounds like this is an opportunity to make some sort of a matrix with the top 100 fish species and mark which ones can live with each type.

[EDIT] Now that I have made that change I suddenly see a ton of threads addressing this question. Sorry for the unecessary post!
