Externals:

• Fluvel 202
• Fluvel 303
• Fluvel 404

If your Fluvel 2 is a 2 plus, then yes, I think it's a great little filter for a small to medium sized tank.

Fluval 4 + excellent internal

Eheim 2231 and 2234 Excellent External canisters

Interpet 2 internal, another good one IMO

Aqua medic PH 1000, just mechanical filtration for my Marine which also has a protien skimmer run from a PH2000 with a bio wheel on the outlet.

havn't had any problems with any of the above filters and have also used the older Fluval internals which were good, just not as easy to maintain as the + series.

I have been using mostly Tetra Whisper power filters because they are the cheapest that I can find. Its hard to find fluval products in most of the stores in my area but I have been thinking about switching to something with a little more gph.
