What Exact Fish Can Be Put Into A 10g?

i dont think a RO unit would be very economical :/ a 10 gallon tank needing 1 gallon a week! nd its pumping out 50 a day! lol. Anyway, what else will i need. And does anyone have an old refractometer hanging around? (i think that's the thing i need :/ )

Bret

try ebay. they are selling for £20 and tha's from the ebay shops I think.

you'll have more than 1 gallon per week, in top offs but I see the point.

I reckon it will be around £80 a year :D

just realised, is that with salt? if so then it will be more economical

Bret, do they sell just RO water on its own???
Cos when you do top offs, you need to use just RO, cos the salt stays in the water, cos it doesnt evaporate...so if you added premixed, then your salt levels would go up and up...
If they dont, then youll need to get an RO unit...

But you will also need premixed saltwater too, for waterchanges.

Also, when storing any of your water, id put a lid on, or some cling film over the top of the container, so you dont loose any water through evaporation

EDIT: And as far as fish go, id go for a yellow coral goby. Theyre small and inexpensive, and they look great.

Tank
Heater
Digi thermometer
Cheapo thermometer
Powerhead
RO Water
Salt
Refractometer
Substrate
LR
5 Gallon storage can

Your LFS should charge around 50p a gallon so i'd get 2 5 gallon containers and take 3 gallons for 3weeks W/C and then the other with 2 gallons for top off or emergencies.

Check out Ebay for a refractometer around £25

Is this tank FOWLR or reef? This will change the cost of setup drastically

Why not get just a swinging needle hydrometer???
Especially if your on a budget?

Mikey

Bah, hijacker :p i am on a budget yes lol and its not going to have corals in ANY time soon lol Will look around for a storage tub/can thingy. Will probably get 2. Salty and non-salty lol :p

Bret.

And wont the purity of the water decrease if its kept in one of those?

I didnt wanna get a RO Unit either because it cost 100+ plus I bought some RO water from the water store beside my house 3bucks for 10gallons and I didnt even use it all!
