So i got my water tested last week and everything was fine (i havent managed to get my own kit yet).
I have 4 black phantom Tetra's, 2 Yellow honey Gourami, a blue Betta and a bristlenose plec. My tank looks REALLY empty. I was wondering what other fish i could add in to make it a bit more lively? I dont really like the look of Cory's...i dont know why, they just don't appeal to me. I really wanted some Galaxy Rasboro's but they are kind of hard to get hold of!
So far all my fish get on great and there is no trouble between any of them.

Thanks in advance for any advice/suggestions! :)

They can be, they tend to nip fins, but the aggression tends to be spread more amongst themselves if kept in groups.

Keeping Gourami's and Betta's together is a big no no, they'll fight as they're both anabantoids and the male may confuse the Gourami to be another Betta, also, mixing Males and Females in small tanks is a no no, Tiger Barbs will also nip the fins of the Betta as will some Tetra's etc, Betta's tend to do best when housed on their own, that is presuming that your Betta is a splendens.

Or how about 2 female Betta's to accompany our boy?

Bad move mixing males and females in a community tank.

And tiger barbs are far too active IMO for a 65L tank, as are most danio's and rainbows - even the smaller ones. I'd add 6 pygmy corys for some movement at the bottom and either up your phantoms to 6 or add 6-8 small schooling fish like harlequin rasboras, ember tetras, neon's or cardinals.

Okee dokee, well thanks for your help! I have a male betta and 2 gourami together now and they seem fine. I wont rock the boat with any females. Maybe when i upgrade in the future and get a bigger tank i'll be able to add some females to my 64L.
