I'd recommend the ecco 2232. nice little filter, does up to 100 litres. also pretty reasonable price :)

are external one better than internal.. ?whats the difference between em ?

im lookin on ebay at them now theres one thats about £47 is that about right?

Go with a little more filtration, like a Eheim Ecco 2234.

IMO, internal filters are ugly since they take up so much space inside the tank. Plus in order to clean them, you need to remove them, which requires you to get your hands wet, which will also disturb the inhabitants in the tank.

One of the nice things about external canister filters is that you can connect an inline heater, so that the heater is no longer inside the tank. This will help so that fish do not get accidentally get burnt and helps to spread the heat more evenly throughout the tank.

I have just gone from an internal Fluval 4+ to an Eheim Ecco 2236.

The capacity of the 2236 is quite large, but I wanted over filtration rather than being on the line. The results are fantastic. And it's sooooo nice not having to clean out the filter every week!

Irf.

I would go with a Eheim Classic. A 2213 should suit your needs.

You can then add an external heater if you wish.

i would recommend either eheim or fluval and also the internal juwels. ive got the juwel 400L and the internal with it does a good job and best of all its big and holds loads of sponges media. ive also got the eheim 2224 as back-up help
