What Dose For Salt As A Medication?

Hi

Could somebody tell me what dose of salt per gallon when using it as a medication? I have searched on here but can't find the topic i was looking for and i know i have seen it before.

Its a Platy with a badly ripped/bitten tail. Its in a separate tank to the main tanks so that it will not affect any of the catfish that we have.

That's fine then, usually a tablespoon to 5gal, but best to add it gradually, good luck.
