if you have read my other post you might know that i cant make up my mind.
out of curiosity what is needed to breed bettas (only one pair) and i mean everything

You will need to do more research. I don't know much about it myself, but I do know that you need to condition the male and the female to accept each other by keeping their tanks next to each other with a divider. You remove the divider to sporadically let them see each other. This needs to be done for some time so they don't kill each other once you introduce them both in the same tank. You also need to make a culture of some kind of specific live food to be ready for when the fry hatch.
And you will need lots of little containers to keep each baby betta once they need to be separated. You might be able to find an old thread on this forum that will give you more information.

thanks guys but i dont thin its gonna happen

I know all about it. I stills have some unwanted females from my spawn I did over a year ago. I bred form hardy fish..

I bought my fish from thialand they we're it cheap pet store fish mine were $20 each pulse shipping. They spawned well my dad was great. I got lots of fish out of it. Sold all the females except for one that I thoght as a female till he turned one and became a man. Talk about late bloomer.

Anyways. It's not worth it to breed taken t from me. I have been keeping fish since 1998. Breeding bettas is a pain in the ass. Due to one reason . Males can not be kept with others males. Whoe are you going to keep over 20+ small tanks clean and heated? That's where the money is wasted on heating small tanks. I live in tahoe I kept my makes in jars on racks with a space heater in a closet basically. The eclectic bill alone was reason not to breed bettas.

I did manage to make a few bucks selling on aquabid but not enought to even break even . I so,d some fish for $20 too. These were nice fish and hardy. To ones I still have are doing great and let's just say I am not taking the best care of the any more.

If is lived in FL or HI some place warm year round i would do it again. But living in the high seirras is no place to raise bettas unless you have money to burn ans lots of time on your hands. Oh I forgot to tell you about the hours wasted doing water changes every day. I come home from work and spend an hour or more doing water changes on my grow out tank all the male grow out tanks and let's not forget parents.

There are others fish that are more fun and cheaper to breed then bettas. I am glad I did it. Bettas are the first fish I ever kept and I have always wanted to breed them. So I am glad I did it but don't plan on doing it again as long as I live in tahoe.

Sorry to bump a thread from a few weeks ago, but thanks for posting this, your betta room was incredible!
