Some suggested that the higher nutrient levels are bad for fish, or cause algae.......... this is just proof that's not the case.
I'll keep posting pics of this tank for the next few years to show it:)

Your tanks are always stunning tom, more pics the merrier :p

Given me an idea, we should have a desktop wallpaper gallery for high res tank pics :)

Ok, off topic ;)

So yes, I've never really believed this whole hoo-har about EI being bad for fish. I wonder why these people don't seem to take an interest in fishless cycling (Ok, I'm speculating). In fact, I'm suprised people still cycle a tank with fish. Surely that is far more dangerous for fish health? (Rhetorical :p)

It is quite clear that many arguments proposed are put forward by people who do not know how to correctly measure, test and then correlate results through to a meaningful conclusion. That lacking, arguments then decend into biased, non-fact based discussions. We see a lot of that, no?

Well, that's a lesson in and of itself. :good:
What helps is seeing it, over and over.... to drive home the notion that such comments are really myth based.
We get bombarded with all sorts of quackery in this hobby and in the daily life.

Helps to keep a sound mind about it.

This tank has really done very well given the lack of care the owner was doing, but recently they have taken a more active role and the tank is doing much better as a result.

This allows me to prune and scape far better since the plant growth is now at 2X the old rate.
Amazing what a little dosing can do.
