I use yeast Co2 on both my tanks and its doing ok so far, though i have never been able to get it working with a glass diffuser as seen there. I even tried with 4 bottles.

I run 2 bottles on my 60ltr and 3 bottles on my 240ltr. But i might be heading down the FE Co2 for the larger tank.

Might tube goes straight into my filter on my small tank, and in the big tank it goes into a powerhead which shoots hundreds of small bubble around the tank.

So do u use a diffuser at all?

Yes. without a diffuser the bubble will go straight to the surface and most of it will just be lost! You need to get the bubbles as fine as possible to get them spread around the tank.

I use a diffuser on a yeast based system, just get the smallest one you can find.

SS how long do you run the DIY for each day ?

about 10 hours, 2 hours before lights on to allow sufficient CO2 levels to build and then off 1 hour before lights out, I use a gang valve to release unwanted gas overnight.

Thats the one i have but i cannot get it working

As you know mine goes through the powerhead which is attached to a timer now for 10 hrs a day When the powerhead is not running the co2 just gets released in huge bubbles so no danger of killing the fish.

Some ceramic diffusers require more pressure, I had one on my first yeast based system and it took a day for the pressure to get high enough for it to work and after 6 months it wouldn't work at all due to it getting clogged, one of the best diffusers on the market is the ladder, the design is brilliant, might look ugly but will get plenty of CO2 into the water. I switched to the ladder after mine got clogged and the bubbles were microscopic by the time they got to the surface and my plants were noticeably happier, they started growing much faster.

Really you like the ladder? I have the Hagen Ladder but do not use it. I find running the tub right the the intake of my filter works well. I might give my ladder another try. I found the bubbles would go up it too fast for anything to happen.
