all in the title do snails such as assasin and neitre snails have specific diet requirements???

Triops, I've read, would swim upside down if the light was at the bottom - the third eye is the one that senses light orientation I believe.

Not sure about the fish though.
Assasin snails apparently eat frozen food as well as other snails. I've seen photos of them eating shrimp pellets too.

Nerite snail IME need lots of green algae growing on hard surfaces to eat. Mine wont eat nori sheets of seaweed or anything other than real algae.
So don't get lots of nerite snails for a small tank. For example, I would say 1 or 2 in a 5gal is OK, but more would just starve after a few months.
Remember to keep those lights on for a decent length of time to grow some.

they all eat algaes, plants, and other rotting or decaying stuff.
Neither species eats plants. Nerites are pretty stubborn and don't tend to eat anthing other than algae on glass and, broad plant leaves and decor.

Assasin snails mainly eat other snails, but do eat other things.
