What Do Kuhli Loaches Eat?

Do they eat bloodworms? I tried tetrabits and they haven't eaten any.

Theyll eat most things, you probably wont see them eat that often as they are more active when its lights out depending on the group size. Mine used to pick up any left overs that fell between the plants and driftwood.

mine eat flake, bloodworm, earthworm, algae wafers, veggies and catfish tablets. They are much more confident in larger groups, I have 12, and they are very confident when eating.

they're mostly nocturnal, and are scavangers...
they'll eat anythig they can find; dont worry if you dont see them eat


if in doubt, try king british catfish pellets - my khulli's go crazy for them

How many Kuhli Loaches have you got in there? You will see them so much more if you had a group of 10-15, allowing you to see them eat and play together.

Hi whilst I agree that Kuhlis should be kept in groups of 6 or more, wouldn't this be dependant on the size of the OP's tank?

Unless the tank and filtration were already seriously overstocked, the bioload from these narrow serpentine fish is pretty small. I have a group of ten Golden Eel Loaches, that have miniscule food requirements in my peaceful 620T tank, I suspect the Rabbit Snail population in there has more influence on the bioload!

I have 3 kuhlis my self and one dojo, they will eat most things they find on the ground late at night. mine have taking a liking to frozen shrimp
