Just got myself 2 female bettas, put them in yesterday. They haven't exactly been active! That's fine by me, they can (and will) do whatever they please anyway, but I'm curious as to whether they're showing normal behaviour.
They seem to hide most of the time, or very slowly move around the bottom of the tank. Is that normal?

Then of course, he proceeds to make a bubblenest and continues his routine of flaring, resting, and the occasional loop through his little rock/cave thingy.
Another one of his quirks is spitting out food then chasing it down. The only problem with that is he rarely catches all the food he spits out and decides he doesn't want it anymore and comes back up towards the surface for some "fresher" food.
