What Could I Do?

For a community, here's my suggestion...
- a dwarf gourami
- 5 pencilfish or 8 rasboras
- 8 kuhli loaches
- 5 cherry shrimp

For a species tank, I would look into the different killifishes out there.

Not wanting to get into a whizzing match. LOL.. but isn't that too many fish for a 15G tank? The kuhli loaches grow to 4" each. Eight of them would be way too many, IMO. Or was that suppose to be 1 kuhli loach?

I honestly don't think it is since the kuhlis and shrimp will stay at the bottom with the rest of the fish will be mid to top of the tank... so that should give plenty of swim room for all. Plus kuhlis with their skinny bodies add very little to the bioload (or so I've heard from many members who keep them. But you are right, if I was going to seriously put this group in a 15 gallon setup, then further research is necessary. Also, there is no way that I'd keep just one loach; loaches are very social and should be in groups. Kuhlis like big groups of 8+. For a safer bet, you could scratch them off the list and just have more shrimp or various different shrimps. Now that I think about it though, I wonder if the gourami would eat them.

I revise my list to this.

i know you said no mollies but what about balloon mollies? i just had to suggest them because they are so different and a tank full of those in different colors and a few cories wold be so pretty (thats sort of what im working on).
