What Could Have Done This?

My poor little albino cory suffered almost a week before he died. I tried tetracycline which it seemed like he may have eaten, but his condition worsened. Then switched to Triple Sulfa, and he died shortly thereafter. He was so small but it almost looked like he was pineconed today. When I examined him, I found his underside split almost open. I want to cry, I feel so bad. What could have happened to him? When I bought him, I was hesitant because many of his tankmates at the LFS were yellow colored---not him though--he always stayed a healthy pink.

im no expert but it sounds like an internal infection of some kind, he was probably infected at the store if you say the rest of the tank mates looked yellow,
