hi all

im thinking of getting some cory for my tank but not sure what to get, can anyone help?

I would like an active fish that may be a little different/unusual/rare but not too difficult to look after and not too big.

In my tank i have black widow tetra and a female BN. I have many plants some real some fake, two bogwood and a few holey rocks so plenty of places to hide or play round. My gravel is plain about 3-5mm.

Shoot away guys.

Cheers

Corydoras do better in sand than gravel, so you might want to think about that for the future. They also do best in shoals of 6 or more, so with your small tank it would be best to stick with the smaller species, such as pandas or pygmies. Then again, the tetras appreciate company as well, of at least 6. Is your tank well established? How long has it been set up?

Take a visit to planetcatfish.com and look at all the species there. It's the best site to do your research.

Cheers!

I have four gold lasers (also known as Peru Gold Stripe) and they are very bold and active (quite rare too). They have a similar temperment to the bronze cories which they will readily shoal with (in my experience) and seem very hardy. I started off with just two but from day one they were not shy at all! I want to get two more myself so I'll have a nice group of six.

Here's a video of my lot, to give you an idea of what they are like.

Grrr, that makes me want to go buy half a dozen of them. My local got LOADS of gold stripes in a month or so ago and still have loads left, at £25 for a pair, im not suprised.

Super active just like mine  Fab video :good:

Nice size gold females there also :good:

i live in west yorkshire, any idea of a shop or breeder in this area? I realy like the sound of these gold lasers.

Thanks everybody for the info, i may get some pandas aswell for my other tank.

I brought my latest two online from Sweet Knowle Aquatics which are based in Warwickshire but they deliver all over the UK :)

They enjoy having bubbles to swim against, if you have that they are very lively and happy.

£12 on sweet knowle. One more question if say i bought 2 of these would they be ok with something like pandas?

minimum of 5/6 corys of any one species, and 60 litres isnt big enough for larger corys like the lazers.

***** it. That 500l would have made me. 2 tanks are not enough
