Had my tank delievered today, and it has been sealed using clear silicone. Is this normal? or should it have been black?

Well, I don't know anything about your particular tank, but my 3 glass tanks are sealed with clear silicone.

Clear is the typical color, although there is no right or wrong here, I've just never seen a tank constructed with black silicone.

my tanks have both so i dont suppose it matters

Ah right just checkin. One of those things that you never seem to take notice on a tank... always too busy looking at the fish :D

Tank was dropped off today, been told to leave it standing the way it is for up to 10 days, to let it full dry before putting water in it.

you do realize that we need pictures, right...... lots and lots of them..... :p

most tanks are made with clear silicon, Juwel tanks however are always in black silicon.

i don't think it matters to be honest. I have seen more clear than black though.

Clear silicone tanks seem more common. Infact, i'd never really noticed until i bought my jewul tank but the black looks really smart i think :good:

I have a tank with black silicone. Don't think it's anything different However my two 20gallon tanks have clear silicone and my 55gallon has black silicone. Don't think anything is wrong with it.

Unless a specific request for black is made, it's usual in the UK to use clear silicon on tanks, especially on larger custom built ones. Of the hundreds we make each year, only about 5% request black.

The advantage over black is that is does not discolour over time like clear silicon can do.

However, clear looks better IMO as it presents the whole tank with less distraction, ideal for "serious" aquascapers.
