What Can I Stock With What I Have Currently?

How about leaving it as a shrimp tank, let the ones you have breed and fill the aquarium.

I've thought about that, but the adults are so tiny that it's hard to see anything when sitting on the couch you can only see them when you are up close to the tank. I thought about getting an apple snail or two just to have something larger in there.

2ftx1ft is a 15 gallon, not a 10.
That being the case, I respectfully disagree with paradise. Whilst not perfect, 2ft provides a length which is about 20 times the size of the neon which is enough to keep it relatively happy. That would be like saying a 20ft tank is too small for a bala shark and I doubt very few of you would say that...

In my 15 gallon, I have 8 neons, 1 betta and 2 bristlenoses. And IMO you could do something similar with appropriate maintenance.

You're going by american Gallons aren't you? 2x1x1ft is 12 gallon here because I had one lol. It wasn't just me saying it though, we all kind of said 10 gallon was too small lol. I don't know what to really say. In one mind I think "Yes, it's perfect for them" but in another mind I think "It's too small, think of the swimming they do in the wild" and while yes that second one can be used for all fish, I find it used a lot more for schooling or shoaling fish because of the fact that there is more of them to take up the room lol. They may be OK, my mind is telling me to say that it is both OK and not OK and so if it's a 12 gallon not a 10 gallon, they may be OK.

Well, you have to be patient until they are enough to be crawling all over the tank.

Oh, I thought US gallons was the standard measure for fishkeeping, I suppose I should be more patriotic

That is the most confusing way of saying I'm not really sure lol. We're all entitled to our own opinions and I don't think saying neons are fine for a 12/15 gallon is too drastic an opinion.

I know it's a confusing way to say it, I really do XD I had to type it out lol. I suppose I can't really comment on the neons thing as I had some in my 2.5ft once, only temporarily because I was re-homing for my mum, but they were still in there. I suppose 6" isn't really much difference is it now I think of it like that.

My tank is 2 foot by 1 foot by 1 foot so maybe it is a 12? When I bought it, it said 10 gallons though.

I started with 8, and have probably close to 20 when I count now. They just don't get very big that is why I don't want to just have them in there. I can see little red specs from the couch, but I really want something I can see swimming without having to go stand next to the tank.

That's why I always go for litres. That way you know exactly which litres you're talking about because there's only one ;)
