iv got a small 15gal tank and was looking into getting a small semi aquatic lizard? if its possible. or some other not fish animal

i was hoping to have the tank heated by a 50W aquarium heater in a pool of water.
heres the tank at the moment

im going to increase the land area. but as a rough idea. will this do to heat it.

and what animals can i keep (preferably reptiles/ something i can hold but it doesn't matter to much if i cant)

i dont mind building a hood if more ventilation is needed.

i quite like the newt but id be worried about them losing there tails
i dont like the look of the mud skipper.

thanks for the replys know of any more?

You could keep a Green Tree Frog or a similar type of frog.

If handled gently the newts would be fine. Just don't pick them up by their tails and they should keep them.

i think i might get Dendrobates Auratus. if i can track them down. i like the idea of frogs. more than newts :good: thanks

Despite what people say you can keep a baby musk turtle in there, they take a while to grow and you would need to upgrade to a 30G for life but as a hatchling they do best in small tanks as they are not very good swimmers.

thanks im not really looking into turtles. they dont appeal to me as much as other animals

Blue crayfish are a lot of fun to watch, have a sand bottom though prefferably - mine like a thick sand to dig in and made caves/burrows under rocks

@ 15 gallons, its too small, for a Blue lobster. but you could add some real land and keep Redclaw or fiddler crabs. though you would need to go brackish for the crabs.
Japanese Firebelly newts require land, Chinese dont. so they could also be an option.
ADF's, though fully aquatic, may also work out fine.
even one ACF, might be fun.
a Vampire shrimp, Atya gabonensis, though you would need to plant the tank, are nice stock. but 15 gallons is only really big enough for one.

or, and only if you are not in the uk, most North American Cray/Crawfish will be fine in there (one only). remember they are best in a none heated tank though.
