and... once I saw pinkish/peachish/reddish snakeskin guppy, really stunning!
for platys-
mickey mouse, I used to have a really purrrdy mickey mouse female, she had the most amazing coloring. Sadly died a month or so ago.... :rip: Minny :byebye:
and blue!
I own a snakeskin guppy, he is my fave and is very pretty, I also own a black, love the dark colors!

Well I don't know any names..
But there were these one guppies at the fish store last week that were white and red. Looked just like mini koi. They were SO cute... think we might get one when we go back if they still have some.
 
hmm, on guppies i would have to say yellow viel-tail. i have a male and it looks GREAT.
for platies i would have to say... my blue half twin-bar half wag.
 
Platies i like:

Orange Sunburst's and Tigers.

Orange Deltas
Fave tail Type is Swallow, but never seen any in LFS'

Thanks! I love your black dress guppy. I might do a guppy tank one of these days... so many variations.

Oh and here's how I take pictures of them. They are so fast that there is no way I can take pictures of them without the flash. So I have the tank light on, the room lights on and the camera's flash is on. I sit on the floor at the center of the tank and shoot at an angle (up and to the right... I usually get no flash return on the picture). Also I wait until they swim closer to the front of the tank; if they are in the back of the tank, the picture is too dark. Also, be quick... take the pictures quick on them because the camera needs to focus on them quickly... they're so fast afterall. Anyway, those are all my "tricks".

ok thanks i will have a try with that on my digital camera not my moblie phone not the best idea to take pics of fish with them you will have no luck lol

I love my tricolor platy! I'll try and get a better picture later when my digital camera is charged up again.

One of the female platies I inherited is the most gorgeous colour - and I've never seen it before or since!
Imagine a silver one, with black fins, and a triangle of orange between anal and tail fins. Then all covered with a blue-green sheen.

No idea what it would be called but I'll be gutted when she dies :(

ETA: Oooo just seen the tricolour pic above - looks very similar but less of the orange!
