I had to look up miracle whip cause here I was thinking it is like a sweet whipped cream and with tomato and bacon?? :))
I had another burrito bowl variant. With jalapeno relish, and black beans, some leftover tofu, tomatoes and corn. And Greek yoghurt. I have decided to not become think. I love food too much and I cook great :)

Does anyone else use a dish washer? Since I live alone, and could do a day's stuff in the sink in a few minutes, I still use the dish washer in my apartment. There are several reasons for this.
  • The water in the dish washer is MUCH hotter than my hands could handle in a sink so it is more sanitary.
  • I don't run the dish washer every day but only when full enough to where I need stuff. This means that I do 3-4 day's worth of dishes in one batch.
  • Since running the dish washer uses less water than a day to day wash in a sink it also conserves water.
  • LOL! I'm lazy so why do by hand when it is actually more sanitary and efficient to use the machine?

Let me tell you a dishwasher is one of my most favorite appliances. It is what saved my relationship with my boyfriend because at the beginning of our relationship we would constantly argue who's turn it was to do the dishes, why do they have to be done at night, no morning, no it will wait after work,... And I would prioritize it against almost everything.

I hate doing dishes, absolutely detest it, if I have to do it, I will never do it in a sink full of water where I have to touch yucky food leftovers. I will do it under running water, wasting it. For me a dishwasher is more ecological for sure.
We had a tiny tiny kitchen and I replaced one cabinet with dishwasher and it was the best idea ever. You cook, dirty thing doesn't have to be moved to sink or take up space on the counter. Nope you hide it in the dishwasher. I always start my cooking process by emptying the dishwasher, collect everything I use and do an eco wash cycle (4hours) overnight and start the day with fresh dishes. Though I cooked three meals a day basically and sometimes run the dishwasher twice a day. Once for sure and we are just two people.

Disadvantage - for a single person, if you don't run it daily, you need more kitchenware. If it has to sit in the dishwasher before you use it, you will need more than one set of anything. Especially utensils.

It makes me more wasteful with the dishes. I prep food blogger style, chop stuff, put each in its own bowl, use it once and put it in the dishwasher, where rinse under the sink would have been enough. Though I opted for a more ecological dishwasher that uses part of the water from previous cycle to wash the next cycle of debris.

And lastly I will wash anything in a dishwasher. Shoes. Dog toys. Fridge shelves. Aquarium cover glass. Dog food and water bowls. Flower pots. Ceiling fan blades. Light fixtures. Anything!!! I adore my dishwasher, some days more than my boyfriend :))

I guess I'm in Asian mode. ;) Chicken, broccoli, pearl onions, gold bell peppers and orange sauce. Chicken is almost to the point of black edges and noodles are close. I'll dump the noodles and veggies in the chicken pan and add the orange sauce turning up the heat to finish.

My parents came to visit so cooked an early lunch for them.

Curry Lamb caribbean style, Rice, Salad and avocado.

As is always the case with me this could change but, so far, tonight's plan is chicken fried steak (sometimes called country fried steak), hash browns and eggs. Mayhaps pancakes. I really like pancakes with runny yolk eggs between the cakes. LOL! Don't put down unless you try. ;)

I always have other things thawed and the final decision is made when I get hungry. Current other options are smoked pulled pork and sirloin tips.

I finally bought some Jiffy corn muffin mix. So, we're having chili from the freezer to go with & some red wine.

I need my dishwasher! Ours died during covid & even a couple weeks of hand washing was terrible! I'm 1 of those who only run if full load. My husband can only fit a few dishes even though he unloads it. Shouldn't he know how it's done by now? He thinks all the forks or spoons should be together so it's easy to put away. NO! They don't get clean that way. So, he can load cups & glasses if he needs to help.

I do hand wash non-stick pans, dishwasher soap kills them. But only 1 or 2x/week. Yes, I'm that lazy! & we have lots of all things. Our single friend has 4 of any 1 thing at most (plates, forks, etc). Gah, I could not live that way!

I had a lazy day today. So I cooked frozen fried chicken and fries with crispy onions and sweet chilli sauce + added some salad leaves so it wasn't a full cheat meal

I'm having what I planned several days ago before I got sidetracked by BBQ. ') Country fried steak with eggs and hash browns covered with white sausage gravy. May add a couple of pancakes but not yet sure. I REALLY like pancakes with a runny yolk egg between the cakes. Good stuff. ;)

Experiment night!

Whether smoked or t-bone cut I'm having a pork chop. Nothing unusual there as I eat more pork and chicken than red meat.

I think most will agree that apple and pork are the perfect marriage. I'm going to do the chop on its own. To go with the chop will be fettuccine and broccoli in an apple sauce based sauce. Not yet sure what spices I'll use but minced garlic WILL be involved to cut a little of the sweetness from the apple sauce. Likely to also use a bit of basil and MAY add a little sweet chili sauce. I've mixed apple sauce and sweet chili sauce before and they work well together.

May not turn out to be my best experiment but I can't see how it can't be pretty good. ;)

Cut it sort of close as to having meat in my freezer but it all works out. I THINK I did a pretty good buy with Omaha Steaks.

4 (7 oz.) Butcher's Cut Air-Chilled Chicken Breasts -- Nice quality and enough for a good meal.
2 (7.75 oz.) Chicken Cordon Bleu -- Good stuff but I saute instead of baking.
2 (7.75 oz.) Spinach & Artichoke Stuffed Chicken Breasts -- Another goodie.
4 (4.5 oz.) Chicken Fried Chicken -- Makes for a good sandwich
4 (6 oz.) Breaded Pork Tenderloins -- Also good for a sandwich.
4 (12 oz.) Smoked Bone-In Pork Chops -- Totally awesome!
4 (10 oz.) Pork T-Bones -- Also awesome
2 (6.5 oz. pkgs.) Green Beans in Butter Sauce -- Sort of high cost but are like fresh.
2 (9.5 oz. trays) Brussels Sprouts With Bacon & Shallots -- Also costly but awesome.
4 (6 oz.) PureGround® Sirloin Burgers -- Really good patties that don't shrink much.
2 (1 lb. pkgs.) Beef Sirloin Tips -- Versatile and tasty.
4 (3 oz.) Gourmet Jumbo Franks -- Don't often do hotdogs but these are good.
1 (18 oz.) Italian-Style Beef Meatballs -- Best 'store bought' balls I've found.

With discounts applied total cost is $223.39 USD. It is enough for over a month of meat. Just can't match that at my local grocery. ;) Leaving out the veggies it is like $30.00 - $35.00 USD a week for meat. I just can't touch that locally. Cost numbers are off a bit but not a lot.

Oh, to add on... I just finished my order for delivery from my local grocery at an initial cost of about $155.00 USD. Won't actually be that much as I have not yet gone to checkout to apply discounts and coupons. Still, between Omaha Steaks and the grocery, I'm looking at probably around $375.00 USD for like 5 weeks of food.
