Ok my tinfoil barbs have been acting weird and I was wondering if anybody knew what they are doing. Basically they just rub up against each other's sides. They're not sick (checked for gill flukes which might explain rubbing) and they never actually hurt each other (all are in good condition, no missing scales, etc). I took a video of it so you all can see:

Tinfoils (please enjoy the Rent soundtrack background music lol)

The best I can think of is maybe it's some kind of mating behavior?

Yep. looks like normal mating behavior

Nope, not new. I've had them for about 6 months now lol. But I've only noticed them doing that since about 2 months ago. Curiosity finally got the best of me though and I finally posted about it!

Don't think they're fighting though because they never actually hurt each other. They just rub their sides together and occasionally chase each other but never nip or anything like that. So yeah I guess it makes sense it's mating behaviors!
